# Quogen > Quogen sells APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling), scheduling software for job shops that keep their ERP. It also sells two products for makers of engineered products, and all three run on MAP, the Manufacturing Agentic Platform. The products: APS for job shops; Company Brain, an approved-knowledge system for engineered-product makers; and configurators and calculators for engineered-product makers. All three run on MAP: one shared model of the customer's operation, read from the systems the customer already runs. Agents propose, solvers and code do the arithmetic, models run privately, and a named person approves every change. Quogen is a small, self-funded company. It configures one product line for each customer instead of building bespoke software, builds new capabilities into MAP so later customers can reuse them, prices one-off work separately, and declines work that would fork the product. ## Products ### APS, Advanced Planning and Scheduling (software), for job shops - What it is: advanced planning and scheduling (APS) for high-mix job shops that keep their ERP. It builds one finite-capacity schedule from the ERP, finds work at risk of shipping late and shows why, and offers recovery options checked against real constraints. The planner chooses. - Buyer: commercial job shops, roughly 25 to 150 people, with an ERP in place and outside processing (plating, heat treat, coating) in their routings. - Workflow: connect one read-only data route; reconcile job identities, timestamps and due-date definitions; build the schedule with a constraint solver; detect exceptions with the affected jobs, sources, data freshness and unknowns; offer recovery options (re-sequence, split, expedite, move the date) as forks of the schedule; the planner decides; record the decision and outcome, and score promise dates against ship dates. - When data is inadequate it reports "insufficient evidence" and opens a clarification task. It does not show uncalibrated risk scores. - It does not write to the ERP, message vendors, release work to the floor on its own, plan across several sites, or compare shops. - Sold through a paid pilot: one site, one workflow, one data route. Stages: readiness, baseline, shadow, assisted, review. Four to six operating weeks once data and deployment are ready. Success thresholds are set jointly after the baseline. No guarantee on delivery or performance and no setup-time promise. Case-study permission is optional and never part of the price. ### Company Brain (productized service), for engineered-product manufacturers - What it is: a disciplined knowledge base of a manufacturer's approved rules, past decisions and the reasons behind them, so people and software can find and trust them. Positioned as faster, safer engineering and quoting decisions. - Registered, approved sources, connected read-only; every claim traces to its source. Named owners, access rules and change history. It says so when the answer isn't there. - Acceptance: each deployment ships with the questions it must answer from the customer's sources. - Learning: a correction is captured with its reason, classified (missing rule, one-off exception, commercial choice, data defect or error), proposed as a rule only where one fits, tested on past cases, and activated by a named person. Rollback is always available. Knowledge never moves between customers. ### Configurators and calculators (productized service), for engineered-product manufacturers - What it is: product configurators and engineering calculators built on the manufacturer's own rules and house methods, inside its design and quoting workflow. - Flow: AI reads an RFQ or spec and flags missing inputs; an engineer or estimator confirms the inputs; tested code configures, checks and prices; the result is explained line by line with its rule and version; a named person signs off and sends. - Rules are versioned; a rule change shows which open quotes it affects. Text inside RFQs is treated as data, never as instructions. - Customer engineers sign off results. Quogen does not certify designs. - Planned: quotes whose lead times are checked against real capacity in APS. ## MAP, the Manufacturing Agentic Platform MAP is the core under every Quogen product. Customers buy APS, Company Brain or a configurator; MAP comes with it and is not sold on its own. - Connectors and mapping: integration is a mapping a person approves. Steps: profile, propose, preview, approve (by the customer's data owner), reconcile, monitor. Read-only first, through one supported API or controlled export. Mappings are versioned. Money stays in the ERP and accounting system. - Shared model: one versioned model of the operation. Source systems keep their records; the model states which system owns which facts. Every customer gets the core; engineering-heavy manufacturers add an engineering pack. Packs add to the core without changing it. - Seven rules for every agent (the lower number wins in a conflict): 1. Solvers decide, models explain. 2. Act freely in the safe direction only. 3. Every proposal is a fork. 4. Autonomy is earned per action, per plant. 5. Every object answers questions. 6. Silence is the default. 7. Every prediction gets scored. - Autonomy ladder: 0 observe, 1 suggest, 2 safe act, 3 act with notice. Rungs are earned per action class and per plant, granted by a named person; one reverted action drops a rung. Pilots run on rungs 0 and 1. Releasing work, shipping, signing and promising dates to customers are never automated. - Decision record: each proposal records what it relied on, the options weighed, who decided and the outcome. The customer owns it and can export it. - Boundaries: approval required for external messages, production schedule changes and any ERP write-back; documents and emails are data, never instructions; agents use allowlisted tools with scoped permissions; failures show a labeled read-only or stale-data state. - Models: agents request a model tier, and each deployment chooses the model for it. First deployments use private, self-hosted inference. Cloud models may become a per-customer opt-in later, only for approved data. - Planned, not yet available: one companion per person, a pre-shift brief, station answers on the floor, delivery in phone, email, SMS and Microsoft Teams, and quotes checked against APS capacity. ## Data and trust - Customers own their data and anything derived from it, and can export it at any time. - No cross-customer learning without separate written permission. It is never a condition of service. - Quogen engineers and their coding tools build and test with synthetic data and do not get access to production records by default. ## Links - [Home](https://quogen.ai/): products, how they fit together, the seven rules, trust, FAQ. - [APS](https://quogen.ai/aps/): Advanced Planning and Scheduling for job shops. - [Company Brain](https://quogen.ai/company-brain/): approved engineering and quoting knowledge for engineered-product manufacturers. - [Configurators and calculators](https://quogen.ai/configurators/): rules and engineering checks built into design and quoting. - [MAP](https://quogen.ai/map/): the Manufacturing Agentic Platform.
